Folly Pier Fest Set for March 11

Celebration on the new pier will raise funds for the Charleston County Parks Foundation

The Charleston County Park and Recreation Commission’s (CCPRC) nonprofit partner, the Charleston County Parks Foundation, will host the first ever Folly Pier Fest on the reconstructed Edwin S. Taylor Folly Beach Fishing Pier on Saturday, March 11. From 5 – 8 p.m., families are invited to enjoy festivities on the newly reopened pier, all while raising funds to support the Charleston County Parks Foundation.

All ages are invited to stroll the pier and enjoy live music from The Dave Landeo Band and solo acoustic artist Justin Hodge. Breakdancer Kyle “K-Otic” Johnson will also perform at the pier. Entertainment company “Good Clean Fun” will also be on site featuring a mermaid and juggling. Face painting and temporary tattoos will also be provided. Various performances and a carnival-type atmosphere will hearken back to the early days of Folly Beach and the first pier in that location, which opened in the 1930s.

Food trucks will be on site and other festival foods will be available for purchase, including popcorn and cotton candy. Beverages, including alcohol, will also be available. Guests are encouraged to bring chairs.

Admission for adults to the Folly Pier Fest is $20 in advance, or $25 on site (if available). Children 12 and under are free. Advance ticket purchase is recommended as this event may sell out. Proceeds will benefit the Charleston County Parks Foundation. Tickets are available for purchase now at CharlestonCountyParks.com (direct link).
