Reinforcing People-First Mission: Atlas Tech Elevates Gary Jaffe to Chief Growth Officer

Atlas Tech proudly announces the promotion of Gary Jaffe to Chief Growth Officer (CGO). Gary joined Atlas Tech in 2014 and has led the company’s strategic planning, capture management, and business development efforts with distinction. As Vice President of Strategy and Growth, he shaped frameworks and forged partnerships that brought robust solutions to warfighters and their missions, but it’s the purpose behind the work that defines Gary most.

A Virginia native, Gary found his professional home in Charleston, earning both his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and MBA from The Citadel. He commissioned through the ROTC program and served as a U.S. Air Force officer for four years, including deployment as a Military Transition Team (MiTT) Advisor to the Afghan National Army in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. “Our convoys were taking place before Mine-Resistant Ambush Protected (MRAP) vehicles existed,” Gary recalled, “when pressure plate IEDs were taking lives. That experience, that connection to the mission, is why I chose this industry. All MRAPs were having their electronics and weapons systems integrated right here in Charleston. It’s not all about business. It’s about service.”

His firsthand experience as a warfighter and now as a senior defense contracting professional gives him a rare and valuable perspective within the industry, which continues to guide Atlas Tech’s growth and impact. His leadership philosophy is grounded in putting people first: “People over profits isn’t a tagline, it’s how we operate. That includes Atlas Team Members, warfighters, customers, and the communities we serve. What drives me is knowing that our customers are mission-ready and confidently able to employ the tools we’ve delivered, especially when it matters most.”

As Chief Growth Officer, Gary will continue propelling Atlas Tech forward, deepening its commitment to service, expanding its impact, and ensuring that every solution empowers those who serve.

John Jones, CEO of Atlas Tech, praised Gary’s promotion: “Gary’s leadership is defined by purpose. He brings strategic vision paired with heartfelt service, qualities that shape Atlas Tech’s growth in the most mission-focused way. His authentic, values-driven approach is exactly what our industry needs.”

Gary’s regional leadership includes serving as President of the Charleston Defense Contractors Association (CDCA) from 2022 to 2024 and as a member of its Board since 2019. He continues to support industry and civic initiatives through the Charleston Metro Chamber of Commerce’s Business Advocacy and Military Advisory Committees. He has held roles with the NIWC Atlantic Contracts Industry Council and the NCMA Charleston Chapter. In 2020, he was named to the Charleston Regional Business Journal’s Forty Under 40 list.
