The Charleston Metro Chamber is excited to welcome Jack Spitzer as our new Chief Operating Officer, bringing more than 30 years of experience helping organizations turn their goals into the people, processes and systems needed to achieve them.

His career has taken him across finance, operations, technology and organizational transformation, often working alongside executive teams to connect strategy with how an organization operates day to day. Most recently, he served as Interim Chief Financial and Operating Officer for South Carolina-based retailer Spartina 449, following executive roles with CEA CAPA Education Abroad, Plexus Worldwide and Isagenix International. Earlier in his career, he spent 15 years with Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide in leadership roles spanning finance, treasury, technology and Six Sigma

It’s that range of experience that makes him particularly well suited for his new role at the Chamber.

As COO, Jack will work across the organization to connect teams and priorities, strengthen our internal operations and make sure the way we work keeps pace with what we’re working to accomplish. For our members, that means a Chamber that’s better equipped to respond to their needs, make smart use of its resources and deliver consistently across the programs, advocacy and opportunities they rely on.

Throughout his career, much of that work has centered on helping organizations operate more effectively. He has led efforts to improve collaboration across teams, modernize operations, use data more effectively and build processes that support growth. At Plexus Worldwide, that included helping translate the company’s vision, mission, values and strategic plan into work that could be carried out across a global organization.

Underlying that experience is a strong belief in the role people play in an organization’s success. Developing talent and mentoring emerging leaders have remained important throughout his career, along with creating environments where teams understand where they’re going and have what they need to get there. It’s an approach that fits naturally with the Chamber and the way our team works together to serve members.

That commitment to people and community extends outside of work as well. He serves as Treasurer and Chair of the Finance Committee for Dress for Success Arizona and recently joined the Investment Committee of Trident United Way, where he helps oversee investment-related matters supporting the organization’s work throughout the region.

An MBA graduate of Arizona State University’s W. P. Carey School of Business, Jack also holds a bachelor’s degree in Organizational Leadership and Management from Franklin University. Originally from Ohio, he spent nearly three decades in Phoenix before moving to the Charleston area in 2025. Away from work, he enjoys traveling, spending time with family, reading about leadership and following developments in space exploration.

With Jack on board, the Chamber gains an experienced leader focused on making sure the organization behind our work is every bit as strong as the work itself. That means stronger internal operations, better-connected teams and an organization equipped to keep delivering for our members as the needs of our business community continue to evolve.
