In 1773, the Chamber was formed to drive commerce. While we as a Chamber and as a community, have evolved significantly over the last 250 years, we have deep roots as the longest continually-operating chamber of commerce in the nation. Throughout the years, we have convened businesses, governments, civic organizations and citizens to collectively respond to our region’s greatest opportunities, and most pressing challenges.
Although we have been around for a long time, we know we are just getting started. We plan to honor and learn from our last 250 years, while proactively focusing on initiating, advocating and empowering our region to ready itself for the next 250+ years of prosperity.
