Legislative Reception 2025: Fostering Collaboration for a Brighter Future

The Charleston Metro Chamber’s annual Legislative Reception, presented by Roper St. Francis Healthcare, once again brought together a powerful force for positive change in our region. Held at the South Carolina Aquarium, the event welcomed over 350 attendees, including Lieutenant Governor Pamela Evette, State Senators, State Representatives, Councilmembers, local Mayors and many more.

This special gathering provides an invaluable opportunity for our business community to engage directly with the elected officials who shape our future. As Bailey Vincett, Director of Government Relations for the Chamber, stated, “We’re so happy to have our members here to meet with our elected officials and talk about the issues that are important to them. It means so much more when they hear it from our members, then we go to Columbia and emphasize that message they heard here tonight.”

The reception fosters meaningful dialogue and strengthens the vital relationships between the business community and our government leaders. “There’s a lot of cohesion in the Lowcountry and it’s in part because of the nights like tonight,” emphasized Johnny Cribb, County Supervisor in Berkeley County.

This collaborative spirit is crucial for our region’s continued success. As Elizabeth Burwell, 2025 Chamber Board Chair and Senior Vice President at Southern First Bank, highlighted, “The Legislative Reception is critical to building and growing relationships between the communities in our area and the legislative delegation so we can work together to advance our business community and make the Tri-County area a better place.”

The Legislative Reception 2025 was a resounding success, demonstrating the power of collaboration and the importance of strong partnerships between the business community and our elected officials. We look forward to continuing to work together to build a brighter future for the Charleston region.
